Troy Hollis "Buck" Pittman, 82 of Lyman passed away peacefully on February 14, 2021. He was the widower of Glenda Mae Leonard Pittman whom he lovingly and sacrificially supported through nearly 60 years of marriage. It was their love for GOD and each other that kept them together. Born July 17, 1938 in Greer, SC. He was the youngest son of the late Carl R. Pittman, Sr. and Elsie G. Pittman. He was a self educated man who worked 70 out of the 82 years of his life. He started his career as a truck driver in 1968. In 1976, he went to work for Carolina Freight Carriers Corporation. It was there that he made lifelong friendships that continued until his death. After retiring in 1998 from ABF he started a lawn care business. He made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ at his home as an adult. He was also a member of Grace Baptist Church. He loved Sunday lunches with his Family, helping others in need, driving Ford trucks, cutting grass, Carolina Breakfasts', watching westerns on TV, Nascar Racing and feeding the critters. He was the loving, hard working Father of Sharon P. Scarbro, Lyman, and Denise P. "Deedee" McAbee and son-in-law Brian, Roebuck. He was known as "Papa" and "Pops" to Grandchildren Aaron and Hannah Scarbro and Great Granddaughter Arwen and Austin and Melinda Scarbro. He was known as "Poppy" to Grandchildren Mitchell and Madison McAbee. He was predeceased by three siblings and one Great Grandchild. He will be remembered for being a dedicated Family man, a hard working, outdoor man, and a helpful, encouraging man. A private family memorial service will be held to honor him at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association, 156 Milestone Way A, Greenville, SC 29615 and/or Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Rd. Spartanburg, SC 29303.
