Garvin Edward (Eddie) Bright Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Garvin Edward (Eddie) Bright passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 73 years of age. Eddie was married to his high school sweetheart, Kay Lowe Bright, for 53 years. He was the son of the late Calvin and Louise Moss Bright. Eddie was a 1966 graduate of James F. Byrnes High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Eddie was an active member of Sharon United Methodist Church where he served on the Grounds and Cemetery Committee for many years. He worked at the SJWD Water District for 27 years and retired from his position there in December. In his retirement he had recently enjoyed learning to play Pickleball. Eddie and Kay enjoyed their time together cruising with friends, shopping at Walmart, and spending time with their family. Eddie is survived by his wife, Kay Lowe Bright of the home and their two children, Travis Bright of Duncan and April Bright Brunson and her husband Tommy of Lyman. Eddie was the proud and doting Pop to a granddaughter, RyLeigh MaKay Brunson. Eddie especially enjoyed golf cart rides with RyLeigh and FRIDAY PRIZES!! He is also survived by a sister, Penny Bright Ray (Allen), and his brothers in law, Carl Lowe (Elaine) and Larry (Laddie) Gresham. He was preceded in death by a sister Jean Bright Gresham. Services will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Sharon United Methodist Church; 1421 Reidville Sharon Road, Greer, SC 29651. A visitation will be held in the gym following interment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sharon United Methodist Church; PO Box 418 Reidville, SC 29375.
