Spartanburg, SC--Bobby Ray Fricks, 82, son of the late Thomas Clarence and Elvie Rowland Fricks, passed away after battling cancer since November, 2012. He is survived by a daughter Lorri Moulton (Frank) of Rockford, WA, a son Thomas Fricks (Hidy) of Renton, WA, and their mother Margaret Brengle Fricks of Renton, WA. Siblings: sister Martha F. Burgess of Pelzer, SC brother Carroll Fricks (Frances) of Williamston, SC, brother Don Fricks (Mary) of Bowling Green, KY, and sister Jayne F. Marsh of the home (his at home hospice caretaker). Sisters-in-law: Roberta Ann B. Watson, Nancy Duncanson (Steve) of Boise, ID, Julie LeFriec (Fred) of Spokane, WA. Brothers-in-law: Haynie Bruce of Laurens, SC and John Matthias Brengle. Grandchildren: Alex Fricks and Collin Fricks. Step granddaughter: Bhinaca Lagamon. Neices and nephews: Monty Lockaby, Teresa F. Hamlett, Tony Fricks, Tim Fricks, Tonya F. Bugg, Tiffany F. Brooks, Robin F. Thomason, John Fricks, Ellen F. Aldridge, Sarah F. Sears, Mike Bruce, Randy Bruce, Beverly M. Luther, Pam M. Phillips, and Mark Marsh. Several great nieces, nephews, and cousins. Step mother-in-law JoAn White of Spokane, WA. In addition to his parents, Bobby was predeceased by his second wife Lois Ann White, sister Velma F. Bruce, brothers-in-law Monroe Lockaby, Smokey Burgess, Lamar Marsh, Bruce Williams, father-in-law Jerry White, mother-in-law Virginia Rodrick White, and his children's maternal grandparents Margaret Clare and Robert Newell Brengle. Bobby graduated from Piedmont High School, Piedmont, SC in 1955 and later he received a Master of Science Communication Degree from Eastern Washington University, Cheney. He served 20 years in the USAF and retired as Master Sergeant. His greatest love was telling stories of his adventures with his grandfathers, dancing with mom, or singing with dad. As a lover of all genres of music, he knew most of the lyrics to songs. He hardly ever missed a question watching his favorite TV showJeopardy. According to many people who knew him, he was knowledgeable beyond his years. He enjoyed traveling through every state of our great nation as well as Japan. Bobby was raised a Baptist and later became a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church. No services are planned at this time, however a special "scattering" of Bobby's ashes in Piedmont, SC, his birth town, will be at a later date. Creamation by Living Waters, Lyman, SC.
