Theodore Alexander Dudics

Taylors, SC – Theodore Alexander Dudics passed away peacefully at his home on February 23,2026. He was the son of the late Paul and Grace Legoza Dudics and the loving husband of 45 years to Margaret Orvis Dudics. Born in Bridgeport and raised in Fairfield, he carried his Connecticut roots proudly throughout his life. In 2017, he followed his beloved family and grandchildren to South Carolina, cherishing every opportunity to be near them and remain an active part of their lives. Family meant everything to him. He shared a close and special bond with his siblings and his mother, relationships that remained a steady source of strength and joy throughout his life. His greatest delight was his grandchildren. He loved them beyond measure and took immense pride in each of them; especially enjoying hearing about his grandsons’ football games, even when he was unable to attend in person. Theodore was a man of deep and abiding faith; he had a strong relationship with the Lord that guided his life and shaped his character. He faithfully served as a Deacon at Calvary Evangelical Free Church in Trumbull, CT, where he was a humble servant and steady presence in his church community. For more than 30 years, he was the proud owner and operator of The Plant Factory Garden Center in Connecticut. Through his work, he did far more than sell plants; he built lasting relationships. He genuinely loved meeting customers, sharing advice, and helping others cultivate beautiful gardens. His knowledge, warmth, and willingness to help made him a trusted friend to many in the community. He was also known for his generous spirit and servant’s heart. He quietly helped neighbors and friends in any way he could, often without being asked. Above all, he will be remembered for his kindness, faith, devotion to family, and the steady, giving presence he was in the lives of so many. His legacy lives on in the gardens he helped grow, the lives he touched, and the family he loved so deeply. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Beth Mortura (Ovidiu); grandchildren, Bella, Oliver, Lily, Noelle, and Mia Mortura; siblings, Paul Dudics, Faith Dinatale (John), Joyce Dudics, Duane Dudics (Michelle), Julius Dudics (JoAnn), and Rachel Palacino (John); and many other loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be announced.
