Mark Allen Hunt

Moore, SC – Mark Allen Hunt began walking on streets of gold with his brother Wayne on July 4, 2024. Mark was the son of the late Wayne Benard Hunt, Sr. and Rose Mary Martino of Olney, IL. Mark was a member of LifeSong Church and volunteered his time to work on the security team at LifeSong. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and drove 18 wheelers in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait during the Iraqi War. He worked for many years at Chapman Concrete and later at Hampton Inn in Spartanburg as maintenance. Mark was a dependable worker and proud to be the one everyone could count on. He often arrived at work 2 hours early and never complained; his thought was “I get to work” not “I have to work”. Mark lived with his brother Wayne and wife, Shirley, for half of their married life. Mark was a devoted brother and was a tremendous help to Shirley in caring for Wayne in his later years. He was attentive to Wayne’s needs and excellent in helping Wayne enjoy a great quality of life. When Mark wasn’t working or lending a hand, he enjoyed attending races and watching sports; He was an avid Gator’s fan! Mark is survived by his children, Rebecca Hunt and Johnathan Hunt; his brothers, Richard L. Hunt, Sr. of Denver, CO, and Brett “Matt” Matthew Hunt (Debbie) of Inman; his nephews, Richard L. Hunt, Jr. and Robin Kristopher Hunt (Shari Katherine); his niece, Christine Marie Kirby; his great nieces and nephews, Asher Hunt, Finny Hunt, and Addie Hunt, and Taylor Turner (Maddie); as well as many other loved family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Jeanette Martino; Mark and Katherine Hunt; and his brother, Wayne Bernard Hunt, Jr. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Mark’s friends, co-workers, and church family. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Living Waters Funeral Home & Crematory from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will begin at 5:00 PM. Rev. Bill Cox will officiate. At the family’s request, please do not send flowers, however, any cards will be greatly appreciated.
