John Casey Wray

Boiling Springs, SC — John Casey Wray entered into Heaven on October 14, 2025. Casey was the son of James and Mary Thelma Wray. Born in San Diego, California in 1989, Casey was the youngest of 4 children. The family moved to Rocky Mount, Virginia, where he graduated from Franklin County High School in 2007. He continued his education at Virginia Commonwealth University earning his Master’s Degree in Physics, Biochemistry, and Mathematics. In 2019, he moved to South Carolina, where he quickly made deep and lasting friendships and connections. Casey loved his family — especially his mom — but above all, he loved Jesus. His greatest joy was showing the love of Christ to others in both words and action. Casey also loved people. To have Casey as a friend was to have Casey in your corner. He was supportive and selfless, and he cared deeply, even when it didn’t always show through his tough exterior. Casey had a gift for knowing just when someone needed a smile, a cup of coffee, and a few words of encouragement. He was also delightfully high-maintenance — particular about the little details that made life his own kind of masterpiece. Brilliant and patient, Casey was a natural problem-solver. He effortlessly tackled every quest from accounting to quality control. His friends will fondly remember his love for sushi dates that always ended with coffee or a milkshake for dessert. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by his family and countless friends who were blessed by his presence, his humor, and his determination. Everyone would agree that Casey lived a life of kindness, love and laughter. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister Teresa Pagel, his brothers, Noe Quintanilla, and James H. Wray III (Amanda), 10 nieces and nephews and 2 grand nephews; as well as many other family members and friends. The service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Gethsemane Baptist Church; 4720 Jubal Early Hwy. Boones Mill, VA 24065. Visitation will begin at 2:00pm, Service at 3:00pm and Reception to follow. Casey's Celebration of Life will be live streamed via Facebook.
