Carl Richard Sessions

Carl Richard Sessions, 53, went fishing with Grandpa and Grandma Stanley on April 2, 2016. Carl was born April 9, 1963 to Connie Wright and Kent Cook. When he was 3 he was adopted by Gerald Sessions. Carl is the oldest of three siblings; two brothers, Curtis and Craig, and a stillborn baby sister Laura. Carl loved playing with his two younger brothers. He grew up in Centerville, Utah where he was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Carl loved the outdoors and everything related. He loved fishing, hiking, camping, hunting, and panning for gold. It was always extra special when his children, grandchildren, and family would join him. Carl attended Viewmont High School where he met his first wife Heike Poike They have 2 children; Russell and Brittany. He later divorced Heike and with the help of his Grandparents and Mother raised Russell and Brittany. A few years later he met and married Neeley Smith. They have 3 children; Preston, Kendall, and Breanna. Carl has 14 grandchildren, 5 granddaughters, and 9 grandsons, who he loves and adores. Carl worked for Structural Steel and Plate Fabrication Company in North Salt Lake, UT where he was a very talented welder. In 2013 he met a very good friend, Dori Hummel, and moved to Boiling Springs, South Carolina where he spent the rest of his life. Carl is survived by his mother, Connie Wright, Centerville UT; his children Russell (April) Sessions, Ogden, UT, Brittany (Kenny) Sessions, Woods Cross, UT, Preston (Brooke) Smith, Kihei, Hawaii, Kendall (Jesse) Andrews, Eagle Mountain, UT, and Breanna Sessions, Saratoga Springs, UT; 5 granddaughters and 8 grandsons; his brothers Curtis (Amy) Sessions, Syracuse ,UT, Craig (Janie) Sessions Murray, UT; 3 Nephews and 5 Nieces; Dear friends Neeley Smith, Saratoga Springs, UT, and Dori Hummel, Boiling Springs, SC. Carl is preceded in death by his grandparents Morlan L. Hyatt, Charles LeRoy and Margaret Elizabeth Stanley; fathers Kent Cook and Gerald Sessions; Baby sister Laura Edrie Sessions; and in his arms is his grandson Preston Andrews. Carl has been cremated in South Carolina and brought back home to Utah. A celebration of his life and memorial will be held on April 9, 2016, his birthday, at 10 am, at the LDS chapel on 160 South 300 East Centerville UT. A visitation will be held before the service from 8:45-9:45am. The family would like to thank everyone for all the support, love, and prayers during this terrible time for our family. A special thank you to Dori Hummel who was with him until the very end. Dad, we will miss your infectious smile, your laugh, our conversations, hiking, camping, fishing and being with you. Until we see you again, sweet angel. We love you and miss you.
